In late August, I had the pleasure of photographing an intimate cocktail and pizza party with Katie Lee and Aperol at Katie’s home in the Hamptons. Katie greeted guests around a custom Aperol Spritz bar cart and later served up pizzas from her backyard wood fired pizza oven. Katie’s rescue puppy Gus charmed everyone, and Marcy Blum, event planner extraordinaire, set effortlessly chic yet simple tables with mixed & matched plates and flowers cut that afternoon from Katie’s garden.
There is no better compliment than previous clients passing my name along to their newly engaged friends, and that is exactly how I met Harmony and David! I loved working with them from first meeting to engagement pictures to their wedding day to album creation. It’s Instagram-official that they are now expecting their first child – I’M SO EXCITED FOR THEM!!!
Take a peek at a few of my favorites from Harmony and David’s July wedding, from the ceremony at the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary in Southampton, to the reception at the Peconic Bay Yacht Club in Southold. The weather was a bit unseasonably windy and chilly for July by the time we arrived in Southold, but the toasts were heartfelt, the party was rockin’, and the dancing was on fire, with music from The Barnstorm.
I’m so excited to announce my partnership with RedTree Albums for all of my wedding albums. RedTree, based out of Louisville, Kentucky, not only produces gorgeous handmade albums with a variety of luxe cover options (Hello, leather, linen and silks!), but they also give great customer service. I couldn’t be happier to bring their heirloom quality albums to my clients (and as soon as I find time, I’m making my own wedding album with them too!)
RedTree offers photo and press printed albums (ask me about the particulars, I’m happy to share pros and cons of each…) and amazing custom embossing options. Here are a few photos courtesy of RedTree that show some of their samples and colors. So pretty!!!
I had the pleasure of getting to know Ivy and Babak through our casual engagement session on a chilly January day in Central Park. In the course of our conversations leading up the wedding, I learned that Ivy is organized, decisive, and she has great taste. Needless to say, I loved working with her! By the time she and Babak hosted their welcome dinner bash at the Gallery Hotel in Greenport, NY, I was ready for a fun wedding day with a gorgeous vivacious couple.
Here a few of my favorite images from Ivy and Babak’s spring wedding at Bedell Cellars, including their ceremony overlooking the vineyard and their grand sparkler exit as they bid their guests farewell for the evening.
Natalie and Patrick’s families have been intertwined since, well, since they could remember! With summer homes just a block apart in New London, Natalie and Patrick grew up at the same beach, and, with three siblings each, they had a ready-made social group that loved nothing more than hilariously competitive sports, both silly and serious! Natalie’s mother recalled in her toast that she realized Natalie and Patrick’s relationship was evolving when, as teens, Patrick actually rang the FRONT doorbell to pick Natalie up for a formal date, as opposed to the norm of popping in the side door unannounced!
Naturally, their wedding was a warm and joyful family affair, with the ceremony and reception held on the lawn of the Branford House, on the grounds of the University of Connecticut, Avery Point, in Groton. The rehearsal dinner was held at the Lyman Allyn Art Museum in New London, and the next day brunch was an all-day croquet brunch hosted by Natalie’s parents.
I gave Mallory & Jarret a ride to Mallory’s sister’s wedding last year, and I secretly knew they were going to soon be engaged (…they were so obviously perfect for each other!) What I didn’t know: they were secretly choosing me as their wedding photographer at the same time! We spent some time on their wedding day visiting a few of Mallory’s favorite spots from her childhood, including the old Parrish Museum (now the Southampton Arts Center) and the old Library in Southampton Village. Their fun-filled wedding day ended at 1am with a piano-singalong by one of their very close (but living far away) friends. Big laughs and a few heartfelt tears along the way: it was a really lovely wonderful day!!
Emily and Peter had an intimate yet raucous wedding at the Ramscale Studio in Chelsea in June. Emily wore blue Tory Burch sandals with her short wedding dress and swept up hair, and the bright colorful flowers she chose added more vibrant pops of color in the open white loft space. Emily and Peter were unflappable all day, laughing constantly and simply enjoying the day with family and friends. The party moved inside after the sun went down over the Hudson River, but the outside deck afforded beautiful spacious river views all afternoon and evening!
In January I was invited to shoot an intimate dinner for Casa Noble tequila, featuring a guided tasting with founder Jose ‘Pepe’ Hermosillo and innovative chef-prepared courses paired with various tequila cocktails. Hosted by the Museum of Food and Wine in Brooklyn, the event hosted various writers and bloggers who collectively embraced the versatility and appeal of tequila as an inspiration for drinks for every mood and occasion, from date night to brunch.
Cathryn rocked a red lip and family heirloom fur stole over her delicate lace dress and was escorted by her parents to the church in a vintage Rolls Royce. Even I was swooning, so you can imagine Tommy’s reaction to her Old Hollywood elegance. Martha Clara’s vineyards were the perfect backdrop for romantic photos before their evening reception began.
